Navigation in Limited Visibility – Rosebush, Preseli

This will be an informal social evening with a chance to practice navigation techniques with friends in limited visibility. And the opportunity to sample the hospitality of Tafarn Sinc too!

Venue:  Car Park at Rosebush (next to Tafarn Sinc SA66 7QU) Grid Ref SN 0750 2953

Please note there are 2 car parks, one in front and one behind the pub.

Time:  Arrive 16:45 for 17:00 start

Event plan:

16:45 Introduction

17:00 Practical exercise around car park; kit, head torches, map drawing

17:30 (staggered starts in small groups).  Copy and follow a route of approximately 3km

Number of participants will be limited and on a first-come-first-served basis.

What to bring: All your usual TREC navigation kit including at least map bag/cover, pens, compass, head torch and hi-vis clothing. Please carry your mobile phone.  Be prepared for any Welsh weather as this is December and it will be dark! Comfortable waterproof walking shoes and warm waterproof clothing will be required.

Tafarn Sinc will be open and we can book food after the training. If you would like to join us for food, please let us know; we will need final numbers by 12th December.
