About the event
This is an official TREC GB training course which will give a broad overview of the Rules and Requirements of British TREC. This year, training is particularly important as there is a new Obstacle scoring sheet being introduced for 2026. Having completed the course, participants will then need to assist at three each of POR, MA and PTV and get signed off by the TD, or a trainer of judges at those competitions in order to become fully qualified TREC GB Judges.
Judges can also just become a PTV – MA judge only, again 3 sessions of each to become a Judge.
The course will be of interest to competitors as well as those who judge as it will give an insight into how judging is carried out. It will also cover examples of different obstacles and situations which may be encountered as a judge officiating at a TREC competition and how a judge is required to act.
Chris Paine, TREC GB trainer of judges, will be training, ably assisted by Molly Watts, (who is also a trainer of judges).
Cost Free to RKTG Committee members and judges refreshing their qualification; others £10.
This includes a copy of the new TREC GB Rulebook (TDs will automatically get a copy)
