Members of Red Kite TREC Group and their friends met on 25th November at the Red Lion Inn, Llandyfaelog for their AGM and annual Awards evening.
It was great to see so many people – and to be able to hold an ‘in person’ event for the first time in three years!
We enjoyed a lovely meal, thanks to the staff at the Red Lion and we had so much news to catch up on that the conversation flowed continuously.
As well as the formal meeting, where we welcomed Donna Sharp, Anne Cowell and Julia Hewerdine as members of our committee, we presented the awards for the Red Kite TREC Group Winter League, Summer League and Milestones awards.
Winner of the Summer League was Jane Anscombe and the Winter League classes were:
Open and Intermediate Open - Dani Glaister, Mary Bray
Newcomer – Mary Beth Jordan
Novice Horse and trophy for the best performance by an Arab or part bred Arab horse – Lesley Lewis
In Hand – Chris Paine
Milestones coasters were awarded to: Jane Anscombe, Cath Cromarty, Laura Robinson, Mary Bray,
Lesley Lewis, Helen Wain and Anne Thomas and these ranged from 50 – 750km.
Well done to everyone.
Following the awards, we were entertained by Bridget Stein who regaled us with her adventures as part of the Great Dragon Ride 2022 – where they rode from the south to the very north of Wales over a period of three weeks. A challenging and great adventure which we all thoroughly enjoyed hearing about.
