"A huge thank you to Bridget for creating an educational, engaging and challenging series for Level 2-4 TREC riders. The first and third of three events were held in the Gower amongst spectacular scenery and landscapes. Bridget was also very hospitable squeezing us into her toasty warm conservatory for the tuition and map drawing sections. The second in the series was held in Pembrey Country Park, where we met in the lovely restaurant for breakfast before getting our instructions and completing the map drawing and grid reference plotting. We all headed off individually but ended up criss-crossing in the forest as we followed our different level paths. I think we all were working on the grid references at dusk, winding our way through WW2 munitions bunkers. The final task of the evening was "night navigation" which was a step too far for my level 2 concentration, but the die hard Treccers ventured off into the night and I was very pleased to see them at part 3 of the course."

The final part of the course is described by Kate Gillam below:
"Left home in the rising sun, and just back now. Many thanks to Bridget for setting out yet another great POR training exercise. You certainly put a lot of effort into it. Thank you to Roger too for putting out all the tickets. We walked round and over the hilltop twice, once following our route as with TREC, only on foot, and the new set of controls and a bearing section. It was testing and fun and of course fabulous views. I do hope Red Kite hold another Gower Trec before my days are up.
